does Blood Donation provide us any benefit as a donor?

  wonder if anyone has donated blood b4, do u gain any benefit after donation?
  i heard my friend said, his dad had blood cancer and was able to purchase some blood for himself becos he had record during his youth as a donor.. o.O true? advantage given to ppl who donate?

  The main benefit is the "feel-good" feeling afterwards
  A single packet of blood from a normal donation can yield 3 types of blood product, which can save up to 3 different people each time.

  No, you only get some light refreshment after blood donation and nothing else.
  
  You will also get priority in receiving blood in non-emergency case, whatever that mean...
  
  Maybe, just maybe you will get to go to heaven for doing good deed.

  Your biggest benefit is that you get blood first when you need blood transfusion..
  
  Nurse: This patient needs blood quickly..
  Doctor: Hmm..he's a regular blood donor..put him on the priority list..
  Nurse: How about this patient?
  Doctor: He never donate blood before leh..just put him last in line..

  Don't think so. I just went for donation last few days ago. They passed me the pamphlet which said you would get higher priority in non-emergency case. For emergency case, there no special treatment no matter if you have donated before or not.

  Yeah, I know that. I was kidding. Obviously there's no priority when it comes to emergency. But tell me, when you need blood, it's usually an emergency ain't it?

  and i know u get first priority in polyclinic, means while others hav to queue up u no need wait if u are sick.

  I started donating some 25 years ago. They gave alot of thing.. You get stout to drink after donating or you can choose biscuit, milo. They even allow taxi reimbursment. During blood donation drive, they used to give lots of goodies as there were sponsers. .. Then if you donate twice in a year, you get free medical benefit at local polyclinic. Here you are give pirority to see doctor, no need to wait...
