Is it because Singaporeans are ungracious and impolite or is it because Singaporeans doesn't know how to express their feelings?
because we live in a repressive, top down, Confucian society ... from young we have authority figures bearing down on us, busting our bubbles, beating us down ... I mean, remember your primary school teachers ? ... the lau char bor types ? ...

since we grew up being used to our feelings and self respect being dis-regarded by other people, is it any surprise that we grow up rude in turn ? ...

but I think we ain't seen nothing yet ... add a couple more million people to Singapore and you'd see fist fights, road rages and brawls every single day ....
