anyone received calls from Hong Kong/China on Phone survey

Recently i received calls on my 3G line.
The chinese speaking ladies claim to be from a marketing doing some research on 3G phone and invited to attend an event held at Esplande or marina on a saturday evening.
Being sketical about it but still I oblige her to attend the event.
However I missed that event.
Blame it on my poor mandarin. I had a little prolem understanding the chinese speaking lady.
did anyone received such calls?
I also need to check if the event held really took place?
and was there any follow-up from them?
let's share the experience and put a stop if this is some sort of scam. -
My friends and I have been receiving such phone calls for over a few months now. I knew it was a scam!

hmph. i got a very nice story to share!
a month ago, this lady called me and spoke in mandarin. From JB. Claims that she wants to do a market survey on electronic appliances. So i obliged. After talking, she revealed she's working for "BAO SHENG" electronics, with branches in Hongkong and Taiwan. After that, say bye bye.
TWO days later, called me, asked if i'm free to make a trip to JB to attend cut-ribbon ceremony for their new outlet. Got lucky draw, performances and all. Of course i say not free. Too bad bye bye.
ONE week later, called me, aiyah Mr ** why didn't you come down, you missed out on alot of fun. So i said sorry lah i had to work. So she said, nevermind Mr **, the reason i called you today is to inform you that at the ceremony, my name was picked out for lucky draw and i won 2nd prize. Oh is it. So what's the prize?
USD$50000.
I stun. For a moment i really believe. Say want to help me process the form, need my bank acc number, IC number. I gong gong go and give. Okay Mr **
the money will be processed into your account in two days time.
Few hours later, called back. Say the prize money is sponsored by a Hongkong
firm, and i need to pay for transaction fees. After they have received the fees, the money will be wired into my account within half an hour. Ok so how much is the fees?
SGD$4500.
Orh. Okay. No need talk so much liao. Bye bye.
Until now the cb still trying her luck, still calling me. -
