Egg whites can be used to make meringues, or some cake recipes e.g. white cakes call for only egg whites (no yolks)...
By the way.. when you bake a cake, you use the whole egg wat. -

is depend on the method of making your cake
most of the case u use whole egg
unless u know about chiffon method , then you will need to seperate the whites and yolks -

qian cheng gao is the baked kueh lapis. brown and yellow alternating. sometimes they add prunes to it. -
