  I remember the days of living in my grandpa shophouse before moving to HDB...everyone so friendly and 24 hr night market where you can get supper ...
  
  All the shophouses are filled with life...hokkien, cantonese and hakka. speaking..and kids learning Queens English..
  
  Quite interesting neighbourhood,not like stale HDB environment...
  
  I guess if we revive this and not turn them into law firms, accounting and ad agencies then the forum here will have less visitors and folks will and tourist will partcipate in real spore life lah

  YEah I think if we revive this communal life..then more young sporeans will not always think of migrating lah....we can do better with high tech and better sewage..the shophouses could be hollandse stylo lah..
