Can you carry swords/clubs/keris to SG streets?

  Okok...we cannot have cats and guard dogs in HDB flats..can we carry some self defense arms like swords to the streets?
  
  I know during Raffles days...many chinese immigrants and malay villagers carry short daggers and sabres
