Is quite true. It too common these day there are ton of degree holders out there. Every year thousand of degree holder graduated.

A degree is as good as the next person applying who only holds a diploma. But a person with a diploma and a degree probably stands a better chance. -
maybe you can stop posting about such rubbish..

right now there is alot of degree holders. i will say it will not be easy for a fresh grad to find a job easily in the future esp what most employers want is someone who r able to interact well in Q&A sessions in the interviews.

but u want a degree that earns u lots of cash? get into a top50 university in the world. e.g NUS NTU.'
u get a degree that everyone can get of course the top companies wont give u as much cash la.
i think TS is one of the Sgreans who stay at home and moan and cry about SG's policies and way of life. u think i like the way it is? SUCK IT UP AND MOVE ON. and if u're good enough u'll succeed no matter where you go.

If you fail in setting up your own business, you can still depend on your degree to get a another job. -
its true that knowledge is power.....
but it is not true that knowledge is FREE.....
schools use that knowledge to sell knowledge -

In SG, you cannot work(as an employee) all the way to have a good life for your retirement and also for your family and kids' upbringing. It is too expensive.. Hence, some people opt to migrate out.
Reality is that, now, a degree does not instantly command >5k monthly pay. There are degree holders out there who is still struggling to get a job with a decent pay. The degree can only up your chances of landing the higher end jobs, but a job is still a job. When you hit 50, what makes you think the employer won't hesitate to ditch you for a younger fresh undergraduate? Oh and guess what? FT are also being welcomed with open arms.
You want a good life? For family? For your kids? Do more than work(as an employee).
Make people work for you not work for people. (Open businesses, ventures etc.)
Make your money work for you. (Investments, financial vehicles etc.)
Good thing about SG is, knowledge is in abundance. The only thing that stands between you and that knowledge, is your willingness.
If you know you can study and get grades, don't just choose your education path blindly. For example, think of the existing thousands of people who have engineering degrees and diplomas. Think of the oncoming FTs specialized in engineering. Now, think of the demand for engineering people here in SG...

In the workplace, what really get's a person's career going is either exceptionally clever work, or an outgoing personality (and, if in sales, a genuine caring for customers/clients)

The New Paper had an excellent example a couple of months ago with the mother in her late 30's who makes $1.7 million selling real estate. (I know- no degree, but you get my point about the personality) -
