Sounds logical indeed.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Using a Degree in Biomedical Science to register for NUS Medicine, the applicant will falls under Category E.
Those I personally have not heard any case of people using this route, but I personally believe that it's possible that the applicant might get accepted into Medicine.
Have a Biomedical Science degree obviously beats A level and diploma hands down, that's what I believe. This will give an upper hand.
Then the interviewers would pose you the question : "why not be a nurse".Originally posted by RETARDED_MORON:I want to help people in their most vulnerable time by providing not only conventional medical treatment but also counsel, encouragement and hope. There is an incredible feeling of fulfillment associated with the improvement of the quality of life that makes me very interested in medicine. I also see medicine as a calling; to undertake the noble responsibility of revitalising my fellow human beings with the power and knowledge I hope to gain by attending medical school.![]()
Did your friend mention that if they fail practical , they have to redo the whole thing again?Originally posted by blue_yoghurt:Eh, really pays to boost up ur CV a little. get involved in some medical volunteer work. Go volunteer your service at a local hospital or something. A friend of mine went for the interview and was told by the interviewer during the interview she was too slack.
During the months after A levels, most of the them would get be involved in some form of internship. By the time of the interview, at least they have some relevant experience in the field.
But don't get too disheartened if you don't get in.. I have friends taking medicine from famous universities in Austraila. There they have only 1 exam at the end of the year and its MCQ.. The NUS medicine examination system is MUCH more hectic. Exams every month and they aren't usually MCQ.
So if you have the financial capabilities to study abroad, do consider alternative places lah. You get to practise medicine as well after you graduate. Its really 5 years of hell if you do it in Singapore.

Can use your diploma and get a degree in the first place? No point dreaming for so many things in life and end up with nothing, be realistic.

Why not? 3.0 grants you eligibility..
If you meant getting a degress that is, but I know 3.5 and Universities will be grabbing you, not sure for Med faculty. Anyway, I'm more interested in the Biz faculty and Social Sciences.
3 friends of mine are studying in AU now, NUS is just so hard to enter. Most of them are father/mother (bloodline) doctor then they will be. It may sounds lame, but its really very true to a large extend.
Interviews after interviews...etc etc. Wanna save the trouble go AU

RETARDED_MORON, I think what you can do is to sell your strong points, i think one of your strongest points is your self-confidence, and doctors must have a lot of that - the ability to make spilt-second decisions etc. Harp on this!
Also, it's good to back it up with examples! Here's one: Sell to NUS Med Fac about your reptuation as a cocky, arrogant bastard who sneers at people who do lousier than you in their results (yes, i am from your JC, and have seen some of your posts last year being totally dismissive of Throughtrain students who do worse than you). Print out some of your forum posts as supporting evidence for NUS, and I am sure they will admit you, man, if your self-confidence is literally oozing out of every pore of your body
Warmest Regards, and hope you are successful with your application
