Do Hotels have CCTVs IN their suites??

  Malaysian MP, claimed to have been filmed by CCTV in a hotel suite in recent sex scandal.

  Strangely, I thought hotel rooms were supposed to have privacy?

  The footage shown in the scandal came from a camera that was secretly rigged by a third party in the hotel room.
  
  The hotel did not place CCTVs in the room. I don't think that any hotel would for that matter.

  i always got tis phobia... at the bathtub.. on the ceiling..u will find some ventilation holes... and i always fear inside got camera...watching me soaking int he tub..

  The simple answer is no.
  
  Hotels do not have CCTVs in their suites.
  
  1. Hotels wouldn't pay for CCTVs in their suites.
  2. There is no way a hotel could keep the fact that they have CCTVs in their suites secret and no one would stay at that hotel.
  3. Hotels can barely keep their hallway cameras functioning, much less CCTVs in the room.

  Assuming that there would be thousands of rooms in the hotel, placing CCTVs in each and every one would suggest that the security would have a hell of a time keeping an eye on every screen/split-screen there is.

  X2. Who else would have known that they (the minister and the girl) would be performing the act on that day, at that time and in that hotel?
  
  Either that or it was someone who knew in advance their booking at the hotel (hotel staff maybe?) and secretly placed the camera in there.

  Once, my friend had a free 3 day stay in a hotel offered by her friend and asked me and some other girls to stay over. When we were in the hotel, we were very afraid that her friend had secretly placed a camera in the bathroom and we searched every nook and cranny just to be safe.

  The typical hotel has about 300-400 rooms. This is the norm for a standard mid sized hotel. Eg. Hilton, Amara.
  
  Larger hotels like the Pan Pacific have about twice that. Approximately 800 rooms or more. Very few hotels have more than 1000 rooms.
  
  Small hotels would have about 150 rooms or so.

  I tend to agree that the girl must have been in on it. Or it was someone who has connections with the hotel.
  
  Even if someone hid a cam in a particular room, it's highly unlikely that the cam would be live. A live cam needs power, cabling, etc.
  
  It's most likely just a hidden handycam which was installed and turned on right when it was planted and retrieved later.
