  I tend to imagine the worst case scenario I have seen in photographs and x-rays and read about and the most merciful way I have decided is euthanasia. The worst scenario I have seen and read has only 18 hours to live without the 50 odd different operations to save its life. So sue me for being a pragmatic and negative yet merciful person.

  I would have to think carefully. Would the disability cause grief and more harm in the long term or the short term. If the child has been conceived, it should be given the right to live or at least given a chance.
  
  There are remarkable stories about parents and their disabled child. One such story I can think of is Lorenzo's Oil.
