A TEENAGE girl was found dead at the foot of a block of flats in Pipit Road on Tuesday afternoon.
A plastic bag of glue was found on the 13th storey, from where 17-year-old Noor Hidayah was believed to have fallen. It is not known if she had been sniffing glue before her death.
The incident happened at about 4.10pm at Block 53, Pipit Road, in the Aljunied area.
The girl, wearing a black top and blue shorts, died at the scene.
According to Chinese evening newspaper Shin Min Daily, a pair of slippers and a mobile phone, believed to be hers, were also found on the 13th storey.
The girl was believed to be a resident of the area, and living with her parents there.
Police are investigating the case as one of unnatural death.
There has been a reported resurgence in glue sniffing among the young in recent times. A 14-year-old girl, who drowned in a canal in April last year, was believed to have been sniffing glue before she died, based on a toxicology report.
Since last August, the Central Narcotics Bureau has stepped up visits to schools to give talks on inhalant abuse.
The talks focus on the harm inhalants can do to the body - including brain damage and death.
