newton's law has been proven to be flawed. however, it applies and is used today for physics calculations of large objects like balls, cars and planets. newton's equations only fail when we talk about the physics of really small stuff like electrons and quarks, so technically it's not really mistaken.
on the otherhand quantum mechanics can help us understand the world of atoms and electrons but it is totally useless when we deal with large objects.
one leading new theory that aims to unify the theories of newton and quantum mechanics is string theory. but i personally find string theory hard to understand because it hypothesises that there are multiple parallel dimensions.
