Adding debit card to PayPal account

I have just got my UOB TX debit card a few days ago. The acknowledgement slip is sent as well. But when I tried to add the card to my PayPal account, it gave me this error:
I have googled this a few days ago and saw a topic about another user experiencing the same problem. But the bank pushed the blame to PayPal and PayPal did the same, back and forth. Any idea what to do about this? And can anyone who has successfully added a UOB debit card to their PayPal account share your experience here?
This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.

I just did another google search and out of the two relevant pages, two were posted by UOB debit card users.

i tot paypal no need to add funds one...
they're just a "middle man" if i'm not wrong -

I have both UOB debit and credit cards registered in Paypal.No issues at all. -

Erm... your debit card do not support internet transactions lor...
maybe electron only... -

the last time i checked, it's the posb go! master debit card that does not support online transactions -.-
and i have both of the above-mentioned cards. unless new cards haf a different transaction policy? but that would be stupid -.-

eh. do wad xcert says. go out and buy some stuff or eat a meal and pay by visa thru ur uob tx card first. if that goes through (wait a few more working days up to a week after u pay for the floating amount to clear), then try with paypal again.Originally posted by LatecomerX:Not yet. Thanks for the info. I just called them this afternoon and they say it's still not linked to my bank account.
I shall pay them a visit tomorrow. -
Can add liao. Now waiting for the expanded usage number to appear on the transaction logs. Thanks for all your advices, guys and gals.
