Maybank seems quite good too but they do not have the free chequebook and debit card like the esaver account..

THe backbone of Esaver acct is that, the banks does away with all the non vital services like passbook, cheque book, atm/debit cards, and channel all these saved expenses into giving you a higher rate.
Maybank has a isaver e account scheme, that offers 1.65% per annum but i have doubts in putting my $ in a Malaysian bank. I have not much faith in the Malaysian regulators.
