ya lah NS nothing to scare one mah...it's like PE only it's 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 3 months.

Don't think of it as suffering. Think of it as training. And you're not just obeying orders. For me I would like to think that I'm doing the country a service. It's a way to pay back to the country.
