Phone operator giving excuse?

I just called MOE and wanted to ask about something regarding JAE at 5.58pm. This lady phone operator told me that she can't hear me speak, like got a lot of echoes at my backgroud. So I put on the ear phones and speak, she said the same thing.
I was like weird, normally this type of thing don't occur to me. So that lady ask me call back to try again and see if the situation improve. So I called back and WTF, I heard computer talking. Thats because their lines are open fro 8am to 6pm only.
After I hang up I was like thinking... My handphone really got problem? Or the lady give excuses so that she can go home on the dot at 6pm?

remind me of my secondary school days when i was helping out in the office. the phone rang a few minutes after 6 then i was wondering why the clerk dun want to answer. so i ask her and she told me, after 6 we don't answer any call. and the phone just keep on ringing.
