Your lesson just ended, and you are moving from another class, back to your own classroom. There is lesson going on, and they are already dismissed, moving out of the class soon. You just enter and put your belongings on ur table w/o distrupting the class, but the teacher shouted at you

Student say nicely: " give me one reason "

(tone was trying to provoke, as u noe teacher is civil servant, and attacking a civil servant is wrong)
Student said:" Come la!"
So they continued to shout(no vulgarities), with hand actions
So, student starts to shout back already, and the teacher actually said: "want to challenge me? "
THey almost got into a fight if another teacher and student did not pull the teacher and student back.(if i saw correctly)
Also note that the teacher always punish 1/2 the class for not doing work, and the temper of the teacher is also not good. The student's mood was nt so good at that point
What would u do as a teacher and as a student??
Vent ur anger physically on the teacher, then talk later?
Apologise to the teacher after school?
Other actions?

Student, must apologize... you walk into class when teacher haven get out that means you're wrong already... unless he already dismissed the class, and is on his way out (not packing stuff)
If everyone was already leaving, the teacher too and you got in and scold you, then the teacher is in fault. No need to fire things off.. Stay cool and tell the teacher the situation... if he insist that you're wrong, APOLOGIZE!
I ask you to apologize, not asking you to let him.. HOD will help HOD one... Principal.. will also help teacher one.. You go home, ask parents help you write letter complain to school, ask them take actions. If no actions is taken, report to higher up (MOE), if no actions taken, you really dulan, den you take down more situations like this, post in STOMP and straits time forum.
Getting the whole class to petition against him will be a good idea too.. rmb.. do it discreetly... in school, you keep quiet... it's his reign at that time.. reign your chaos after that.. -

Well you must appreciate that during the recession years of 2003, there were loads of cannot make it graduates who opted to join teaching becz of the higher ridiculous pay. Hence, i am not surprised you encountered such teachers who merely blow their top at students and pick a fight on students. The next time, your reply should be, "If you are so god damn capable, you wouldn't be here, but you should be out in the private sector!!!" -

then after i find his car and puncture his tyre. If anyone saw me do it, i will say Headmaster ask me to do it.
If any teacher saw me doin it . i will say ppl ask me to do it..
if i got caught, i will say sory only. and i sill say other person ask me to do it, and if i say out his name my family will die lol -

No point getting into anything serious because of this...every1's got a bad day occasionally and to me if these issue get blown up by any party then that party is foolish.
Both party jus tell truth about momentary blast and admit could have done better in mannerism and apologise to each other..in front of third party...and walk away

After that, the HOD came in and said that the student must apologise first. i think that is fine, but the student may think the teacher is in the wrong as:
the teacher came in most of the time when we are leaving and asked us to "get out get out!", so that part is also not veri well done by the teacher.
The teacher is not showing much respect. So from my point of view, so for his own first piority, he is not exercising care for others.
From the other thread i can see that there are many bad tempered teachers around.
At the same time, yes I agree that the teacher should apologise and handle this matter in a more suitable way.
However, the student made the first mistake, so he should apologise first. He is only apologising for HIS mistake, not the teacher's. And regardless of how wrong the teacher was, does not justify him making the mistake to begin with. Just because someone else is at fault, does not mean that you are not too. In fact this has nothing to do with teacher/student.
But rather by taking responsibility for your own mistake, you empower yourself by doing the RIGHT thing. You don't become RIGHT by pointing fingers at someone else's WRONGS. It's not up to you to 'teach' someone else a lesson, just learn your own lessons well. -
experienced similar event before.
Whole class supported me and a fren, whom the teacher claim we got into "troubles".
Punished us based on no reasons, den claimed we are defiant.
She den started to counsel us(the whole class), on why we musnt lie, as its a sin(blah blah blah) , when we report the situation to the DM.

first and foremost, your story itself is already biased against the teacher isn't it? from the way you wrote the story it just seem like the teacher was completely in the wrong.
true both are in the wrong. teacher for flaring up, student for being rude. honestly after being repriminded and just leaving without a word is damn rude.
imagine you're thinking of something important halfway than your younger just come into the room and disrupted your chain of thoughts so you shouted at him "GET OUT!" he just ignored you, gave you tt lj face and left the room without saying a word. how you feel? don't tell me you won't wanna pick a fight with him? especially when you're in a bad mood?
of course as a student we wouldn't think of writing it to the papers and all. probaly just settle everything on the spot. won't think so far at that point of time. i won't blame the student for reacting this way because i probaly would too if i were to be at the scene. but if this matter persists and the teacher picks on others, i feel tt its high time you people should do something about it. -

If I were the student entering the class and I see the teacher inside, I would first knock on the door to ask permission to enter to park my stuff.......
It is not a matter of whether you are disrupting a lesson here. Rather, it's a matter of character refinement, common courtesy and respect.
There is no right/wrong in this case, there being no standard measure against which there can be a reference......
