PIRATED NORTON ANTI VIRUS CD

  I bought a pirated norton anti virus cd in 2006 and it says that it has a life span of 2 years.
  
  My friend taught me that to activate the pirated norton anti virus cd, I have to switch off the internet and activate it by phone. I did it and it worked.
  
  Than today it was not 2 years yet. A sign came out asking me if I want to install the latest update . I clicked yes only to realise that after it was downloaded, it says the norton anti virus has expired.
  
  I think it is because when downloading the latest update, it was connected to the symatetic website and it was a pirated cd so it could not be activated.
  
  So I try to remove the entire norton anti virus from my computer and use the same cd that I bought 2 years ago to reinstall it.
  
  It worked but than only certain functions could be used. Like the email scanning, internet protection etc could still work but the part about scanning was incomplete and there were no live updates too.
  
  It also shows that the subscription had expired.
  
  Why is that so? Is it each pirated cd can only install once and cannot download updates to the anti virus?
  
  If I go and buy a new norton anti virus cd now and reinstall it, can i use the full function of the norton anti virus?

  Norton no good lah. Too many useless applications which make the comp lag only.

  I recommend Avast.

  Avast no good. It's a bit over-sensitive and reported some sites having worms when actually no have. I switched back to AVG.

  the free avg no good leh.

  In 2006 I tried the free avg too but it could detect virus but cannot remove them so I went to buy the pirated norton anti virus.

  Never heard of avast before..

  dun be so greedy. buy pirated software still want to update it. you want updates then pay for it.

  otherwise, just use free antivirus. avg and avast free one. can update somemore.

  anti-virus software is useless if you arent careful online. the most powerful anti-virus software is your own common sense.
