It is not about reducing carbon emissions altogether. It is about controlling the level of emissions as well as coming up with innovative technologies to reduce the emissions.
Take for example, if all the cars on our roads were electric rather than petrol-powered, we would have reduced our carbon emissions by a lot.
to the TS,
given that most things in sgpore rely on inventions from overseas,
i think we need to wait for overseas to come up a proven successful way to be carbon-free before such thing will be followed here to make here carbon-free.
roads, cars, refrigerator, TV, modem, computer, paper, pen, shoes, underwear, thongs, condom, bikini, wine, beer, xbox, planes, helicopter, boats, tanks, guns, rifles, shirts, phones, lightbulb, budget air, long distance flight, biggest plane, hybrid cars, cupboard, socks, text books, university , poly, tv programs, london eye, caber car, cable tv, cash card related technologies, bus, cabs, all university degree courses basically, all phd degree courses basically , microsoft operating system, mac, anti virus, watches, oil, petrol, diesel, f1, duck tour, restaurants, fast food restaurants, hokien mee, mee goreng, tau sa pau, mee siam without hum (original flavor), sex toys, air con, bags, chairs, hair dryer, locks, keys, subaru wrx, evo x, lambo, ferrari, cordless phone, containers, sea port, air port, bus , mrt : these all originate from overseas as inventions.
cable tv for examper, existed for so long donkey years. recently it came to sgpore. wow , some donno thinks its invented here. ha ha ha
what else is overseas invention?
I say these to encourage more local inventors and lets not rely so much on foreign talents if its possible to cultivate our own.
If continuing to rely without strong effort to cultivate our own to take over their jobs, we are sitting ducks waiting to be replaced, in time.
i hope locals stand up for ourselves and do the needful to change for the better. no one owes no body a living. we must not rely on foreigners long. its not wise. we must also not wait for someone businessminded to tell you what i am telling you. no businessmen would not want to have contract staff whom they can hire and fire at will , own time own target and have to hire a permanent staff who they cannot as easily throw away.
business is all about bottom line. else no businessmen would be doing business if its for your human capital development to train you and make your market value grow and they have to pay you more. they go for cheaper, contract.
i believe yesh only if the garbament press the button hard on this.....
like maybe they can make a law banning carbon emmitting cars in a few years time giving people the chance and time to convert them
haha...all those "luxury car" owners will have no choice unless they can convert their cars.....
TS mean carbon or carbon dioxide? Reducing carbon dioxide emission to stop global warming. But why can't use carbon? ![]()
