Any assasins or ailens pics? I can't seems to find that species.
i guess Urban Legend
Euryattus is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders).
Like Holcolaetis and Thiania bhamoensis, these spiders build a flat, densely woven egg sac that is not contiguous with the silk of the nest. Euryattus posits the egg sac in rolled up leaves, similar to T. bhamoensis, which is in the same subfamily and stitches two leaves together.[1]
Ahhh, I seen it before but only once. Damn freak out cos it is golden in colour & the "eyes" on top of the head is scary and my friend told me not to catch as he said is ghost spider...haha
Shocking footage of a male fighting spider(Jack) trying to eat another bigger male(6leg). A fight that turn into gruesome horror

I used to think that playing spiders is a small kids game too, afterall in reality it was once largely played by kids. But now as a grown up, and I look at my friends spending 2 hours watching soccer or TV and I think to myself. Is watching soccer more grown up? Sure it's a huge industry and lots of people seems to be interested but wat's in for my fren by watching it? Nothing except for entertainment of course. Wat about glamourous hobbies like golf and car racing? More grown up? Looks like it. But wat's in for the indulging? Certainly make you spend more money. Make more high class friends? Maybe, but in the end I also see they do it for entertainment and maybe for exercise if it's a sport. They can't make a cent out of it.(I wouldn't even want to comment on the time people spent in their "holy" religious activities and also network games). In the end, it really doesn't matter wat u do for a pastime, as long as you enjoy it and it doesn't land u in jail, have no regrets. Who cares wheather you're writing poetry or fighting spiders? As long as you still carry out your priorities like work, home tasks and for family, and hold certain ambition, time spent enjoying is really time well spent. One life is all you're given. cheers :)
Hey Melbournite, im from Singapore ! Mind adding me in msn ? [email protected] maybe oneday we could go and hunt FS together !

Unfortunately i am not in Singapore, if given a chance i will like to take up my childhood hobby again
But fighting spiders in AUS ( currently i am living in) , i have no idea if they are found here...Probably they cant stand the climate.. they are exclusive to tropical countries
still got fighting spider around meh? I used to catch them too and feed them with those shiny flies hopping leaf to leaf..
they may still be around but i am not sure until u go spider hunting again.
But singapore weather has changed the last decade and they may be extinct or reduced in numbers now.
it used to be warm and wet in the 1980s/90s as compared to the current heatwave in sg.

Black widows?..OMG since when did black widows appear in such numbers in Singapore?. I dont recall seeing BW when i was in the bushes for fighting spiders in the late 80s - early 90s
If what u mentioned is true, then the sudden appreance of BWs indicate a change in the eco system perhaps?...all i knew were the Magpie robins and other birds migrated out of singapore due to rapid urbanisation and their absence may had resulted in BWs and other larger spiders infesting in huge numbers. In singapore, the larger spiders natural enemies are birds

serious! and I didn't go into the jungle.. I used to catch them at the bushes outside Orchid Country Club.. and that is the area that have been infested. but it's also a long time since I went back there.. so.. maybe they cleared it liao.. I cycle past nia my face kenna web lo.. :(
so, anybody knows where and how to find them?
to those who are curious about this hobby of yesteryear. and going into the bushes to find fighting spiders, take precaution as u dot know what kind of spider u will be encountering like eg. baby Black widow which can be highly venomous.Apart from this, u will also need to take care of snakes and scorpions.
anyone old enough to play fighting spiders in 70s? Where to catch? Do you train them? How stored? what kinds? what do they eat? I'm trying to learn about what kids did for fun before wii, computers, etc :)
