hw abt me le..
after my O lvl, my parents hav stopped giving me allowances le..
poly fees, daily expenses, bills, transports, text bks etc all settled by my own..
i also tahan it thur out by working part time as waiter..
back then, wkends are a must for me to work as the resturant allowed me to work 12hrs each day..
n there were also some pt of times when i needed $, i rather borrow it from my frens den from my parents..
as by then im ardy pis.sed off wif my parents xpecially my dad..
anyway if u tink u're e worse,
some1 is even worst from u le..
so e btmline is dont compare wif ppl..
as there's a saying '1 mountain still got 1 mountain higher'..

wrong. there are a lot of pple getting less than 1 k per month pay. even if you consider 1.4k per month after cpf you are still left with less than 2.3k.

ts believe it or not money that is very difficult 2 earn, u will value it much more than others. like u said u earned 2k frm yr office job to buy yr laptop n u feel heart pain 2k just disappeared like that. but treat the 2k as an investment 4 yr diploma. it will help u to do yr projects more easily with a laptop.
the fact u can think of setting aside money every mth to make up the 2k is gd. n no pt to envy yr friends wearing billabong, ripcurl, ralph lauren, guess, levi, armani. these brands teens wear these days nothing compared to the past teens wear MCM, istante, D&G, Fendi n use startac x, ericsson 788. mayb u think 2 much thats y u say u think yr classmates laugh at u n despise u. find other friends. true friends wont look down on each other. they accept each other, motivate, help each other 2 b better ppl.
n believe it or not, the ppl who so called snobs, look down on u 1 day he MIGHT come n seek yr help n u will help him within yr ability when all his so called friends disappear in times of need. its usually like this. work hard in sch 1day when u see the efforts of yr hard work n u will recall the past n realise all this is actually a phase, nothing to u n u will emerge a stronger happier person. gd luck.

You can always work part time for extra allowance during off school hours. Even now that I am studying in poly as well, I do part time aswell. No use whine about the amount of allowanance that your parents give you. If you think not enough then you can always earn your own allowance to buy things for yourself!
My broadband and my phone bills are not footed by my parents from the day that I first owned a pager like 10 years ago till now a mobile phone. In fact, I pay for my mom's... So, what make you think you are the miserable one?
And one thing for sure, I agree with your friends that you claimed to think of you as a loser! Cos you only know how to whine and not look for alternative way out of your misery. And for a matter of fact, I think of you as a loser as well!!!!!!!!

i see alot of poly students doing part-time now.
be glad tat ur parents are stil able to provide/ sponsor some stuff for u.
i noe its hard on u but its hard on them too.
i started working when im 15 and i dun take allowance from them since the day i work, except for my school fee/ books which my parents, the rest i pay myself one..
then i lagi poor lor..

getting a 1k salary is pretty simple in singapore i feel...
even without any cert, a 1k job is quite easy to find...
see... even by hours...
let say $4 per hour...
work 10hrs a day...
25 days in a month... (which means still got some off days)
1k already...and, the $4 per hours may varies...
it all depend whether you can take the hardship or not...well just my little view as i don't really know how the outside world works...

that's if you do multiple jobs i think. and the problem with that is like you can't even hope for pay raise. I'm talking about 1 job pax.
