HI guys,
I was surprised that chow have fans in korea and japan too , a natural actor that was born and raised in HK an island city too...
Can our island produce such a star too?
the question is whether this chow yun fatt of singapore wants to be a chow yun fatt......
like i said earlier in some thread....
singapore has originality.....its only a matter of wants....
people who are interested in arts most of the time do not have originality....
whilst those who have originality aren't that interested in arts.....
the world is unfair in this situation......
One never thought a japanese idolise a chinese star like Chow but some younger japanese do and even see him as part of their heritage tree![]()
A clip from TVB upcoming young chow. already talented one can mediacorp scout such young actors here?
Weird young japanese who like Chow:)
no surprise if a person with a straight mind would find Chow as a great actor no matter wot race the person is

Uncle, who is chow, leslie and ti? wat toking u??
I think sg no chow one lah, but for fatt, yes, every year we go Kong hee Fatt choy.
welcome to singapore~
Hong Kong dramas and shows beats Singapore 's hands down
This is how they cultivate all the mega stars u see in the news
Singapore's main problem lies in the fact that none of our dramas have really captured an international audience. That's why it's a long way to go before producing a internationl celebrity.
can i be myself, yet be more famous then them? 0_o
Maybe , 淫熊本色? Starring Singapore's worst Blogger?

as far as i know, no.....
but i can tell you that many malays will not doubt his ability.....
indonesians especially watch chow yun fatt, any lau and jackie chan.....they always show their old shows on the station.....
sammo hung also quite good......it somehow makes me feel sad to think that decades to come if he dies, no one would be as great as him
I think Chow Yun Fatt already has one foot in Singapore.
Good actor are not born but created. The environment is not there in Singapore to create good actor. Look at local show, the script and the actors are lousy. Sometimes, HK actors are invited to star in local drama, but the production is still lousy. Wonder is it the script writer fault? director fault?
But that doesn't mean there are no talented actors in SG, it's just that they will have to start their acting career from abroad to success. Not sure what is wrong with mediacorp, I think maybe it's time for it to learn from other countries and produce better scripts and actors.
A few years back, when mediaWork was still around, it manage to produce better show than mediaCorp (thank to LKY, it's no longer there). Without competition, local production will never make it and we can forget about producing any really good actor which can move to the global stage.
Sg gangster not rich to fund the ent. ind. .
Edu rich ass go for ppty and fin ind.
yea, last time when mediaworks was around, there were much better shows. now ah, no hope lar, our drama serial producers dont noe how to produce a decent script that can have us on our feet. Only stand out i can think of is Roystan Tan , though he's a film producer =.="

Yup I agree that local shows standards were rising when mediaWorks was around. Shows like Growing Up came into being at those times, and the one about a girl (mediaWorks production) which I find were quite on par with established productions overseas.
Now the shows, are just justifications for the salaries of mediaCorp producers. Ch 8 dialogues are like language tapes!
Jacky Lau Leong Fatt... .... ![]()
