Shit, never knew it cost damned near 1k. And when he gave it to me, I basically said 'meh, thanks'. Crap, I feel so bad.

I know Tag Heuers are expensive, but I was thinking maybe $300-$400, but nearly 1k. I'd never buy a watch like this myself, much less give it to other people......
And worse yet, I didn't really wear it until recently. D:
Now I'm feeling worse. Argh.

what's he working as? analyst?
btw, next time you get a watch. look at the back cover, or the watch face it self, and see if there is any word of "swiss made" / "swiss" in them, with the exception of swatch and entry line models of battery operated swiss watches, they are easily above 1k.
those entry models like longines, are well above $700.

Risk management. Or something like that. Company wants to borrow much money from bank, bank sends him down to assess the risk. Then based on his recommendations, decides on amount and interest. Something like that. And his way of earning money is bloody simple. But you have to be rich in the first place. Properties. Buy at low cycle. Rent out. Wait. Sell at high cycle. D:
icic
yeah properties is not bad provided bought at the right time
one of my ex bf bought a condo in bukit timah for investing and rent it out to a caucasian, earn quite good rental income every month ![]()

watches i never heard of
it's all about pronunciation
give clock as present in chinese is 钟..
"钟" means another meaning in the same pronunce, but different chinese word
some say give shoe in cantonese is like hai hai sheng
belanja him out to dinner or what lah.... haha.. even tho it will only cost a part of the total cost of the watch. but at least show some gratitude on top of your "meh, thanks" response you gave him.
Since he is a rich banker and very generous...u must alway kindly remind him of your next birthday and any other occasion such as graduation days etc etc..hope he give u rolex the next time round.

Eh, I'll have to say it's too late already. But I did treat their entire family to a christmas dinner last week. Huge turkey + ham + alaskan king crab.

He == man. I == man. You == GTFO!
Like I said, properties is the best investment. But you really need to be rich in the first place to do so. A condo is about 600 to 800k. So the down payment alone is 60-80k. And you need to be able to hold it (which means mortgage) to be able to make the most out of it.
