it's common sense that there is a God though
Never see him, never feel him, never hear him, no signs he exists and then it is common sense he exist ?
then it is common sense tat anything can exist
If you believe in God, and there isn't one, its OK.
But if you don't believe, and there is one, you're screwed.
If u believe in god, u waste time praying, money tilthing, effort learning etc. If u guess the wrong choice out of the thousands of religion, u r gangbanged.

Its not a matter of prove it, or disprove it, it is a matter of whether you believe or not. Some people live on the basis of scientific proof for everything, well.... its their lot.
What is the purpose of living? Pursuit of happiness? Not by a fat chance. All have one common goal, and that is zero suffering. When that is obtained or absent, life then becomes a challenge; to maintain status quo, to accumulate wealth, to keep up with the neighbours, to obtain prestige, power, to whatever one desire, etc and etc. Most are successful, some are more successful and there are those who flounder. Anxiety now replaces the pursuit of zero suffering. In all this hetic confusion called life, some will seek solace, to quieten their mind. There are various tactics to keep the mind still,(meditation, medication, accumualtion of wealth and whatnot) religion is only one of them. And it works for some, not for others, again, to each his own.
You can see whether a person has a peaceful disposition or not. Those that are peaceful with themselves and others, good for them. Those whose mind and body are in a state of disharmony, let them be, it is within their power to alleviate their turmoil. They only need to be smart.

i was talking about wot ongsoosiang said lah
besides, its scientific for a human to believe in a higher being since we are higher beings the higher beings of this planet.....its only natural if one believes on the possibility of higher beings that has control over our universe etc....

Huh! so we are God of all beings here, but we kill others, cook or eat them raw? And in term of eg. climbing trees, monkey being are better than us, how can we be the higher being? -

but we are the only creature here with the ability to change and control our surroundings......thats where darwin's survival of the fittest comes in.....or rather i would say survival of the smartest and one which could adapt easily.......

The burden of proving lies on the person making the extraordinary claim. Since it is never observed heaven or hell exist, the burden of proving it to be true lies on the person making tis claim. It is stupid to ask people to "disprove" something otherwise it becomes "true". If tat is the case, then every stupid monters, theory, fiction and fairytales r true. Can u prove snow white to be a false character ? Can u prove Harry Potter does not exist ?

Scientific means looking at evidence. There is no evidence to show there is a higher being, purposely hide away from us, able to control life and death, morally right and actually care a hoot about every single individual in tis world.

Oh, definitely. It's possible to believe in god but not any present religion. Can't quite remember what it's called, though. Just theism? Don't think so. Also, it's actually quite common.
Yes, I can't find the proper name for it either and I'm sure its not agnostic. I was hoping someone here would know.
I don't believe in religion because to me religion, is someone else's definition of what God/soul/etc is.If you believe in God yet you believe in no religion, it's quite contradicting.
But then again, humans are an irony themselves.
I'd rather discover about these things myself.The other reason I stopped believing, is because the religion that I was born into,claims that the afterlife for those who've done bad deeds in this world is eternal torment.I cannot accept a god whose nature is love, would subject any soul to unending punishment,That's worse than the harshest judge !Even a criminal who is sentenced to death or life imprisonment only suffers for a certaing period, not eternity !
