I'm thinking of promoting homeschooling as an alternative to our peer pressure education system, freeing the minds of SG kids as thinking human beings not mindless feeding machines.
What you guys think?
I know why you come to this forum liao. Your topics everything related to either SG women, SG men, SG kids, and SG.
depends la,if homeschooling by a teacher or a professional can la. but if by parents, they wouldnt like take it seriously
what about friends?
not many chance to make friends leh.
Sometimes I think our schools like QC factory..those kids that failed Qc inspection will be sent to dumping dept
and what?
get to know their mothers, and sleep with them?
Homeschooling is giving families to educate their kids and not let state takeover...if the state welfare is a dirty word, why state education isn't?
actually scholls give u a chance to make friends, as well as make you to do 'teamwork'...
less stressful!
i think school is a much better envinronment for the kids to study and mix around
homeschooling is a nono
well... is it recognised in SG then? If not, it will do no good... It would also shrink the circle of friends those children would have if they were schooling...![]()
homeschooling got homework?
me will consider hmschoolin for my kids leh.
U have no clue as to what is peer pressure in SG.May be the kids are too fragile to take a small competition.
What grew in fire doesn't wither in sun.
Homeschooling sound like cool idea but you must remember we live in singapore. And the thing is we are multi-racial if you home-school then they can't learn associate with other races. Unless you say you family is multi-racial by itself which is pretty impossible. I think public schooling gives a lot of platform for communication and learning as one big society. After all, Singapore's peace, economy and blah must probably all somewhat relies of the peace between multi-racials. Though i cannot disagree that in public schooling, it sometimes is kind of crazy, with the peer pressure and stuff. Especially when some kids couldn't catch up in school. It's just have its own pros and cons. I guess like everything else, pros and cons you weigh them according to your own scale. -shrugs-
