I think having a clothing or bedsheet line is pretty profitable, look at those tee-making brands, their cost price less than $5 yet 1 piece they can sell for $30+
As for bedlinen, cost price is less than $2.
The only thing left is to source for materials and machines. Probably can go to India, Sri Lanka regions for cheap materials and get 2nd hand machines to mass produce locally. Then after business become stable, source it to 3rd world countries to maximise profits. Of course, there is a need to identify the people that would buy your products, thus brand labelling is important. Maybe after finishing everything else and coming out to work, I can work about 2 years to save up like 40k to start up and if it's not enough, then take up a loan or what.
How feasible do you think this is?
Not very feasible. Production costs of such goods are much cheaper in China; it is cheaper to get wholesale in bulk from China and sell here
Usually, you are either the manufacturer, the wholesaler or the retailer. To encompass all requires a very strong management team.
i am afraid this is not a very good idea...
what about carpets?
u can go into food and spices ect...
Hmm, Come to think of it. Eagle has a point.
However, then it is not feasible to go into clothing line locally. Considering that most clothes making shop require you to make 1000 pieces of tee before they put on your label AND each piece is no cheaper than $20
u want to make sari issit?

Not really... Girls clothes you can source in bangkok for abt $8 per piece if you buy 3 or more... If you know the place, they wholesale if you buy 3 pieces and above... My sis has a fren who go there just to buy 500 pieces to sell back in sg... Adding plane fare would be about $10 a piece, and she sells off at around $28..
Only thing is you have to keep taking photos and updating the site...

they are overseas... I wouldn't really know... if there are defects, you can always choose not to buy
why would you want to include labelling?

to try and start up my own line, i mean. if i do open a shop. it's kind of dumb not to have a label that sets me distinctively different from the rest.
If I am not mistaking, I think you are referring to clothing shops with the same business model as "4 Skins".
These guys began by designning their own T-shirts and sourcing their T-shirt material from Thailand and etc, thus creating their own brand. What was unique about them was the fact that they begin their business in the beginning of a growing trend of custom designned T-shirts, clothing etc.
If you wish to include labelling, then your going down the self-designning route, simply because it makes no sense putting your label on T-shirts that you don't create. You will have to design them yourself, all the way from scratch. Its not as simple as designning graphics and sticking them onto T-shirts and putting on your label though.
