what's going on?

I returned home after grocery on Sat evening and upon reaching my car park, I heard my dogs howling and barking away. It's been months since I moved in and my dogs dun howl anymore. I wonder what triggered it again. What pissed me off most was my elder dog pee-ed on a wall near the island. He's trained and he knew he shouldn't... What triggered it? I have new neighbour who just live 1 floor below me and he has a dog. His dog is tamed and is free to roam. I wonder if the dog came to my unit and caused the ruckus; Or my dogs were just lonely and tried to contact me via their long range communicaion facility? Or did my dog witness any paranormal activities that caused them to react like that? Anyone had the same experience , and how do you resolved it?
