I wish to relate my bad experience when I was shopping recently. I was browsing through the merchandise when a pair of kids shoes caught my eyes. I thought it would be nice if there is an adult size, so I could get a pair for my hubby.
I approached the sales staff and asked if adult size are available. But the foreign salesgirl cannot even understand the word 'adult'. I even use sign language and point out to the shoe and my hubby, she still couldn't understand what I want. We got fed-up and left the shop. The shop obviously lost a customer. And this not my first encounter. Some can speak english but in their accent, it's still difficult to communicate.
I urge employers to consider this matter seriously. Get employee who can speak english well. What's the point if they can save cost on labour but lose potential customers?
