I refer to the article "Belt Up? Its Not Pratical" on the New Paper today.
It says that it is dangerous to ferry the foreign workers on lorrys. However, ferrying the workers on buses would lead to increased costs. I have a suggestion to solve this problem.
I believe everyone knows that SBS Transit has been scraping old buses which can still be used. Example, all the Mark IIs have been scraped, just because they have reached their "lifespan". The Mark IIs can still be used if LTA allows it.
To solve this problem, the LTA can be more flexible to allow these old buses to continue to be used. The old buses that SBS Transit does not want can be given free to the foreign workers companies to ferry the foreign workers, as opposed to using lorries.
