I was going down the stairs when I heard the cries of a kitten. She saw me and tried to follow me,as I was in a hurry,I told myself "I will buy her some milk when I come back."
On my way back,I tried to find the kitten. She was surprisely quiet, she didnt try to follow me around either. Strange... I carried her up to take a closer look and absolutely shocked about what I saw.
Her eyelids have been superglued together!
My heart almost broke when it dawned on me what had happened to the poor kitten.I brought her inside the house and tried to wash her eyes...My thoughts then were "I just hope she can lead a happy life before she dies-it's only a matter of time."
After that I gave her some milk...I tried to look at her eyes again and had to shun away...it was so heartbreaking... :'(
I played around with her for a while, then I tried to rub away the glue.Surprisely I could! I brought her back to the house to give her a more thorough wash. Slowly,I managed to get rid of the glue.
Here is a video of the poor kitty. At around 1.18 onwards, you have a close up view of her face and you can see the residue of the glue stains on her face. :( At that moment, she could see again and in the video she is following me around again! :)

Confirm some human being did something to her while I was away.
Coz when I first saw her,she was ok and tried to follow me.
When I came back, she was quiet and her eye and nose area got what seemed to be those kind of glue stains,ya that type people use for sniffing.

I'm so angry that there are people around who can be so unbelievably cruel to a poor, helpess kitten! ![]()
You're a wonderful person, Marco, for saving this poor little kitten. Bless your heart!
From the videoclip, kitty looks like she's just 1.5-2 months old. Please don't feed it cow's milk, but if you want, you can try 1 part evaporated milk to 2 parts water. Some cats get diarrhoea drinking anything dairy, including this mixture, that's recommended by the SPCA.
You'll need to get to a petshop and purchase kitten kibble for it. I like Science Diet. Since it's so young, try to take a look at its teeth. If they don't look fully-formed, when giving it dry food, put some water into the bowl to soften it for her. Otherwise, feed her canned food, which is soft, but costlier. I used to feed my cats dry food most of the time, with canned food 3 times a week as a treat, and sometimes, quick-boiled slices of fish or pig's liver or prawns with shell on but heads removed.
It's so young that you'll have to act like a mother cat to it. Designate certain times in the day for feeding. Sit nearby and watch her eat. Once she's done, just like a mother cat, carry her by holding the flap of skin at the top of her neck, and slipping your other hand on her bottom for support, bring her to your bathroom and place her near the drain hole. Then, using a soft tissue, gently swipe her bottom. That's like the mother cat using her tongue to stimulate bowel movement. The kitten will then pee or poo there and you can then lift up the drain cover and just rinse it all down the drain.
Leave that piece of tissue with her scent near the drain cover and after every meal, bring her to the same spot, do the same thing, and let her sniff the tissue with her scent and she'll learn to associate that area with peeing and pooing and as she gets older, she'll know to head there to do her business. Be consistent and keep to a routine so its easier for kitty to learn the habit.
Bring her to a vet as soon as you can for vaccination. The vet will also check her for fleas and ear mites. Also, try to look closely at her stools to see if there are tiny worms wriggling about. Most of the time, kittens will need to be dewormed.
Purchase a little comb for your pet and groom her regularly, mimicking the short, quick movements of the mother cat's tongue on her kittens. Speak to her in a sweet, reassuring voice as you're doing so, so she'll learn to associate grooming with a pleasant sensation and won't resist it when she grows older.
Cats are smart. This one knows you've rescued it and I won't be surprised if she turns out to be dog-like in following you around the house everytime you're home.
That was precisely what my Cody did, and I rescued Cody from near-death too.
Can't think of a name for her now. Maybe later. ![]()
Cody? for a female cat?
how bout cassie?
Names... how about :
Nadine - French for 'hopeful'
Drea - Greek for 'courageous'
Shayla - Celtic for 'her gift'. In this case, YOU are her gift. ![]()

Cody was my male cat. He was very much loved and he loved me back too.
He even knew how to play catching! ![]()
Oh! One thing you should know is that kittens don't really learn to sheath their claws until about 4-5 months of age.
This means that until then, the kitten might accidentally scratch you, not because it wants to, but because it hasn't learnt how to make its claws retract yet. You can purchase special clippers for trimming her claws, but better still, get a good scratching post from the pet shop, and bring her to it, and gently rub-rub her paws on it and she'll get the idea. Whenever you see her start to scratch anything in the house, immediately tell her "NO!", tap her on the nose and then carry her over to the scratching post, and rub-rub her paws on the post and she'll learn very quickly to only scratch that post.
Good luck with your kitten! ![]()

It has been quite a few years since I last visited a vet in Singapore with my cats. I think you should call up and ask first. In any case, you need to make an appointment too.
Vets cost more than GP's.
I think consultation alone starts anywhere from SGD40-60? First visits usually cost more too because there will be vaccinations, deworming pills, etc etc.
I love cats, and I have taken care of cats for years so I really don't mind helping out with a bit of advice and tips here and there. Afterall, you're a hero! ![]()
What a cute kitty! Thumbs up for you for saving its life!![]()
