who pays for the food when eating with colleagues?

  who pays for the food when eating with colleagues?
  
  when u guys go out eat with colleague for lunch, and when the food is combined and share type of food ( eg. 1 plate of crab, 1 plate of fried rice ) , how u guys split and pay for the bill?
  
  what i observe is usually 1 person will be the one paying. and very difficult for that person to claim back the money from all the colleagues
  
  got 2 cases
  - money is collected by the hawker/waitress when the meal is served
  hard to ask for the money from everyone before the meal because everyone is hungry and wanna eat
  
  - money is collected by the hawker/waitress after the meal is over
  hard to ask for the money from everyone after the meal because everyone is full and leaving for another destination

  today i treat, tml u treat, another day someone else treat....
  take turns lah
  no need geh gao one lah
  but of cos not today go kopitiam then another day go lawry's lah
  
  OR
  
  total everything, then split according, whether those who eat or not eat or who order asspensive one who order cheap one.
  as long as sit in the same table, split equally

  1. Split the bill equally if the food is shared, and everyone had a portion from it.

  2. Look at bill and pay your share + appropriate additional charges for GST / service charge.

  Hmm... sometime my colleague treat, sometime I treat... Though I treat lesser I think...

  there are times we pay for different dishes or drinks when eating at hawker center.

  If you think too much, it might hurt your relationship. Money is not everything in the world, dude.

  Different clique practises different systems...so far these are the systems I have encountered before:

  1) Each pays his/her own share (My preferred system)

  2) Each takes turn to treat

  3)The one who is richer tends to pay...but later forgets to collect money from us or subsidizes

  4) Each pays his/her own share excluding GST and service charge...the one who is more generous forks out the extra.

  If eat at a place, where everyone gets wad they wanna eat, then its fine, if its at a place, where everyone shares, then split lor.
