Is this possible on a TV?

Okay, wot happened was
I turned on my TV last night, and for a second or so I saw this white bar saying "Loading....please wait" which always appear when I turned on the Starhub CableTV Hubstation (a kind of set up box). The weird thing is, the set up box wasn't turned on! Do you guys think it's possible that my TV 'retains' the screenshot for a moment or so? Even when the setup box is turned off? My mom thinks I'm lying -.-

but sthtimes things go wrong, im on mio tv
i plug out the lan wire and the show continuues playing

-.- thanks ar guys. anw MyPillowTalks, it does happens? Well Im using a projection TV (those old huge screen ones before plasma flat screens were out. Not those projected on a wall/screen). I know it's almost impossible since the set-up box was switched off. Any technicians out there who could explain this? The TV had a delay? or retained the screen?

SAME!im using the samsung tantus with the touch sensor, actually i tink the signal is sent, my tv will stop playing when i leave the plug out for a while

Yer. That makes sense. Maybe the TV received the signal and retains it while the setup box is disconnected or turned off...

Sometime hor, even more strange, my channel will change automatically, why ar??
