Also, exam timetables in NTU are generally better spread out than NUS. It's like lets say you take the same number of modules for a similar course in both universities, NTU's exams will tend to spread over 2-3 weeks (unless you screw up by repeating too many subjects) but in NUS, chances are it'll be done and dusted in 1 week. So more stress loh. There's a saying that goes, in NUS, people ask one another, you get A or B for your subjects. In NTU, it is you got "pao" (repeat) your subject anot?
NUS have many big lecture halls and theatres and they always ensure that there is enough seats for everyone.
Only exception is maybe for big class like economics which have about 800 students taking at semester and three lecture classes of size 330. Problem is students dont want to go for their own lecture groups which they bid for and they squeeze into the afternoon best time slot or whichever suits them.
Exams timetable in NUS is more packed because NUS have many available rooms for exams. NUS can afford to squeeze all the exams for law, medicine, engineering, music, fass, science, computing, business into 2-3 weeks. Amazing right? Yeah NUS are profit-driven and probably they can save more by squeezing all the exams into 2-3 weeks.
But yes, NUS is probably more stressful than NTU. But with the gpa system introduced in NTU now, probably the stress level is getting closer. Now both unis are easy to pass, not easy to score.

No la... still very easy to score
and still same technique as scoring for Os or As
okay tmr is my first day in ntu mechanical engineering.
tmr night i come back here okay? tell you all my first day experience.
for nus mechanical engineering, we will have sugarcoated to tell us abt her experience there.

be prepared for a super long canteen queue.
1st 2 semesters should be chiong as much as possible while everyone still relac relac, making new friends, reuniting with long lost ones, exploring canteen, etc
Then when everyone start to gabra and start chionging, then you start to relac relac, make new friends, reunite with long lost ones, explore canteen, etc

nus is top 10 in engineering as what this topic is about

i think by then they already gabra very busy no time to entertain u so much.

then go entertain the year ones/juniors at that time lor
depends on which engineering u are talking about...
eg. NTU's EEE is very tough to score high... and NUS chemical engineering is very tough to score high...

not sure about U guys...but Boon Lay interchange was quite packed with people taking 179 at 7.30am this morning...expected lar...but for the newbies...better go early...go go go!!!
I'm going to NTU Engineering next year. Was thinking of switching to NUS ISE. Then again, my grades are rather sucky. So I don't know if I can handle the pressure there. But just wondering, is the stress level at NUS really that high?
I already say NUS very easy to score one
Why no one believe me
i had physics & econs lectures yesterday.
the lecturers speak very good english.. i had the idea that the further up you go, the way the lecturers articulate is even worse. but not the case so a certain A/Prof Yap in his physics lectures. very cool guy.
during the breaks, my friends were i really roamed around the places. different canteens, libraries... fun!
today no lectures.. tmr is a 3hr lecture frm 0830-1130. we'll see how things go. :D
179A bus drivers are good wor.

Yah, especially when they "initial D" at the south spine school of communication and information there. Last time more "shiok" but now they put a hump there.

NUS Electrical eng very relax... for NTU EEE, u relax u die...

There are lots of students who pass out of NUS with just third class honours or even worse, no honours. (Statistics: Just in NUS electrical engine alone, more than 60+ students grad without honours degree after studying 4 years in year 2008.) I wouldnt classify NUS as relaxing at all.
im from NTU also. Year 3 biz some more.. so far think it kinda sucks.
got many friends in NTU engy - they say they turning gay... guess u know what that means.
academics wise its pretty tough. hard to score, some modules, esp engy ones, also can dabao. my friend in mech engy said he failed physics and damn reluctant to retake as he said very diifficult to pass by his standards. bottom line: if u are by nature slack and dont have alot of drive to excel, will just scrape through or do only mediocre.
worse still is if you have no friends joining you in your new course or you dont click with your 1st year classmates like me (1/2 cheena ppl + muggers, 1/2 got their own clique liao from OG or hostel) .. will be damn sian feeling.
