I am about to get my key to my new flat and have to get some renovation done.
But I am afraid of shoddy workmanship, over claim of capability by contractor and over-charging of work by contractor.
Can anyone advise me on what to do?

always tell the contract ur budget....
and constantly review the spending...cos they will tend to buy this and that...and u will end up blowing ur budget...
be firm, the contractor will always try to sway you to their ideas...
do a clear list of items u have paid from ur own pocket, otherwise the contractors will sometime include these items in their total bill...
and alot more..
