hi all, im not sure if this is a nigerian scam, but a friend of mine recently got approached by this almost stranger guy to borrow money to fly home. his work contract has expired and his visa is expiring. he has a family in singapore but since his visa is expiring, he needs a small amount of money to fly home and back here or else he would be considered an illegal immigrant.
its such a small amount of money and he seems really genuine, so cant be a scam, right?

y did u republish it..i deleted the post because from the first few replies, no one has met with such a scam, so i guess it might be a genuine case of someone in need of help. and i dont want the person to accidentally chance upon this and be hurt to find out that this is what people think of him? might hurt other nigerians too..

its to serve as a pre-cautionary message to others to differentiate whether its a genuine case or a scam... call this a case study...
like e.g. u see a beggar say he hungry for days, u will not give money straightaway, u rather take him to hawker centre, pay for the food and watch him eat in front of u to satisfy his hunger...

Hmmm...it certainly seems to be a scam. Sometimes we cannot xin ruan when we meet this kind of situation and stay rational. Do not believe everything that person says however true it may seem as our momentary kindness may cost us much.

nigeria is the father of all such scams....way back to as early as 70s..even earlier if not wrong..
