Originally posted by Toyol.shiueygurl:i've done my Alevels last year and applied for a course in this particular university. apparently, the course is starting on 20th oct. i've paid seven thousand plus as the first installment. but I did not receive the detailed schedule. the lady from the school assured me that it'll be sent to me by mail at least one month before the course starts.
on 20th sept, no news from the university.
three weeks before course starts, no news. called the lady form the school, she wasnt free to talk, told me she'll check when she's in the office.
two weeks before course starts, no news. sms her worriedly, asking if I am in the course. she replied, assuring me I am included.
one week before the course, no news. sms her again, she replied that the person in charge was tied down by some other stuffs, will definitely start working at the schedule.
a few days later, she sms me to ask if I am fine with taking the same course in part time. apparently there were not enough people to start the course in full time. and if I dont mind, the school will raise fund to return me the excess.
so how? what do you think I should do? I feel terribly cheated. and if i wait for the new intake, it might not 'happen' unless there is enough students. what the hell, i thought all's good especially when i paid a sum for the first installment. and throughout the whole period of time, no one ever warned me about such a happening, can the school really do this?
Do you have the receipt?
Don't go to school that is not established. If you do, then it's at your own risk.
But maybe you can learn the minibonds people make protest at Hong Lim Park claiming the school 'mis-sell' you your education package. Who knows you might be able to get some response from the government!
Which uni is this?
Degree mill ah? ![]()
yes i still have the receipt. the school is finally coming up with a "tentative schedule". the lady that represents the school to talk to me, said that this schedule is tentative because they have not confirmed the class size. wat the hell rite?!! its starting in early nov and they dun noe the class size?! i am really afraid that the class size is really small den they'll cancel it again:/
this university is rather recognised and established. one of the oldest private university in singapore. but i dun tink its veri nice to name the school ya.
u nvr name the uni name, u want us to help?
we talking to stone wall?
west coast university ah? got chan soo sen come one is it?
lol mdis?
yes its MDIS. i am sorry that i haven been mentioning the name of the schol becos i tot its not a good idea to do so. now that everyone's been asking, yes its mdis.
I dont think MDIS will cheat your money bah.... Maybe got problem cause got alot of students studying there are from overseas.
i hate to belive they are cheating my money too. but look, thhey've been giving me empty promises. until now, school is supposed to start in less than 10 days time, and i have yet to receive a proper schedule. how can i still trust the school? can i really believe that lesson will still start promptly within 10 days time?
god this is frustrating.

complain to upper management, they sure tio fuck one.
Thats what some of my school mates did, the department got fucked big time. Guess you can try that, or why not make a personal trip down to demand for a schedule, if not refund of the money.
In the beginning when you sense something wrong, you should go down to the school and check it out. Well.. if you really feel unsecure then go to the school and tell them your decision , if thing nasty.. just go CASE
i would suggest solving the problem directly with the school first..If all else fails, go to CASE
i've alr came to a decision- to withdraw my application. i cant trust this school anymore. now, i just have to continue to wait for my refund. will it really take yrs? i've checked with the lady but she cant give me any time frame as to when i will be able to receive my money back...
SIM more reliable
psb also
the pple who handled ur enquiries don't sound very reliable... it's not really considered cheating, but i'd suggest after u withdraw ur application, to press the school for a time frame to get ur money back... maybe can give them a month or so... and if they drag for too long and seem to be avoiding the issue, give them some "motivation" by threatening to complain to CASE or write to SPH... maybe the second one more effective...
i can tell u i heard a lot pple complaining abt mdis administration. if i rmb correctly tat time got one gal say the class she take example is tue thurs but wat actually given was wed fri. then the refunding was super long until she threaten to bring it to case then she manage to get her refund. think u better press for the money or go down personally to the sch there n make a scene.
yea sim is quite reliable i can say. i study there one
yup, mdis administration sucks, used to study there.
now can get money back? will be another frustrating wait for TS
complain to straits times or case or MP.
alot of options.only see you want to do or not.
complain until they bankrupt.
i dont like these kind of pri unis which go out and bluff people money.
people study is really want to get the cert.then they go and bluff people innocent money.
i dont understand what they thinking and where their consience go.
