Oh, okay, I'll play for now!
Here are a few pictures of one of my more recent acquisitions: a Ruger Super Redhawk revolver chambered for the wrist-snapping 454 Casull cartridge.

The following sequence of images are screencaps of a video I took showing the effects of a 454 Casull 250 gr. JHP handloaded projectile impacting the base of a 2-liter water bottle at approximately 1400 fps.

i used to be this high one....lau liao ![]()

I'm not the religious kind. Just pass the bloody ammunition! ![]()
Hoojie paloojie, MG - ya hunting airplanes with that or something? ![]()
The design makes me think of a Colt Single-Action Army revolver, especially with that cylinder.

I need something in that caliber to bring down big game like the shy and elusive North American mountain elephant. ![]()
By the way, Ged--those guns in the pictures in your post on the previous page, are they yours?

Nah, the Tangfolio belongs to a mate of mine, and the Glock and USP were from the range. The Glock definitely showed its age - it misfed every sixth round or so.
Signed up for an IPSC-affiliated range here, but they packed up six months after I signed up, so I never got round to getting my own piece. I was actually talking to a guy about buying his Tangfolio Gold Custom, but I needed a few more months before getting off my probationary licence and qualifying to buy my own gun. After the range closed shop, the next-closest one was a hassle to get to, so I never followed up.

Ouch! What caused the range to shut down? Did it become a victim of the prevailing anti-gun sentiment in Oz? Is there another range you can join?

Nah, apparently there was some review and the place lost its rating to operate a range because it wasn't up to government regulations (especially since it was in the middle of an industrial park). They tried getting it up to spec, but ultimately it cost too much and they had no choice but to shut down.
Of the two closest ranges to me, one involves fighting through 45 km/h traffic for almost an hour to get there, and the other gave me a real attitude when I called to enquire about membership.
But to tell the real truth, during all the brouhaha I got sidetracked in the meantime and got into photography instead. It's turning out to be more expensive than shooting! ![]()
Another fairly recent acquisition, marking my first foray into the world of "Tactical Tupperware" aka Glocks:

It's a 9mm Glock 34 which I've extensively modified for Bullseye competition use. It sports a 6" aftermarket barrel with standard "land and groove" rifling, an adjustable target rear sight blade, and a competition trigger that breaks at just under 2 lbs.
Veeery nice. Round these here parts that barrel would count as an illegal modification - I can't remember the details, but there's only a certain amount you can extend a barrel.
shall i post my own pic here? ![]()
