Anybody remember former Longhouse food ctr used to be A&W ?

  The current longhouse food centre along upp thomson road, near lakeview. Years ago, i think almost 20 years ago, it used to be A & W fastfood.
  
  Then many years later it changed into a food centre with many foodstalls. Then closed down not long, for many years, n then finally it got developed into the current Longhouse food centre.
  
  Any of u remember? Good old days..

  ohh.. yeah I do.. u know near yishun there used to have a stand alone Mac too with a playground inside.. now become a row of shops and the mac becomes only a normal outlet with a drive thru..

  it's I think after mandai that area, towards sembawang that road.. bus 169 167 can reach.. :P there's a few pubs and also the chong pang nasi lemak there now..

  oh...that one is sembawang road... near opposite the army camp. On the same row near the Mac used to have one turtle soup restaurant. now no more already. replaced by other restaurants.

  i stay behind the mac only. the turtle soup stall moved to geylang.

  Ya the mac is at chong pang there. now its like private bldg with a mac below rite? dunno, long time no go.

   

  Who remember the row of shophouses that caught fire along uppthomson... started from a paint shop.. they closed the whole road haha

  btw the hay mee tat used to be at lakeview really solid, after they shift to shunfu, standard like drop drastically....

   

  the pao shop at lake view anyone knows shift to where?

  the ikan bilis mee or yu mian shop at the hawker also classic, but the uncle aunty stopped when they tore lakeview down..

  nope. the mac is now the drive thru. some of the staff are the same from the previous one with the playground. the one at chong pang is chong pang cc.

  huh no i not talking abt the chong pang cc one.

  the stand alone mac is now under a private residential building n no longer stand alone rite?

  the hawker ctr also has tasty fish porridge, the uncle selling it is a bald guy. i like the yusheng, its a must have to go with the porridge. n also one stall there sell mee goreng, very tasty. it has potato cubes in it too. thats y so tasty.

  n finally washed down with soybean milk or chin chow....

  n then when i young i like to buy toys from the toy stall facing the hawker centre. they sell rubber snakes, insects, rats etc. very fun.

   

  yar yar omg. really nostalgic lol. the toy shops and the paw...

  i still remember the old sign that says lakeview pasar

  its not iconic in anyway, but its place right where the steps were to the carpark. ahahaa

  And yes, I do have very, very fond memories of when that lot used to be occupied by the A&W restaurant. And before that, back in the 70s, the entire lot used to be a Shell petrol station.
