relief teaching

hello
im looking for a post to relief teach next year, but im not very sure about the precedure, so anyone who has done this before, please help!
after applying at the moe webby, do i have to wait for an email to say that im approved for relief teaching? or am i automatically licensed for relief teaching once i submit my application?
do i wait for moe to assign me to schools? or do i have to approach schools to ask for vacancies?
do primary schools pay less than secondary schools?

the moe website states that the minimum requirement is to have 5 'o' level passes including EL1 in 1 sitting.
problem is i don't have that as mine is a combined certificate of 2 sittings. if combined together, i will fulfill that requirement.
BUT...i have a full 'A' level certificate. hmm...so i'm actually qualified right? since they state minimum requirement....

If I'm not wrong, you also need to apply and produce a police clearance.
Just in case if you're some child sex-offender ex-convict.

Duh, having problem with english? Of course you met the requirement since you have A level cert.

MOE will select the schools for u. Unless u apply through the school u want to go to.

those who have applied before, how long did you wait for the application to be approved?
and how long after application did school(s) contact you?

approval consideration takes abt 2 weeks.
n school wouldn't contact u 1... u must call the school general office n ask... u want the job, u want the money, u take the initiative... -

by right, no. u need to have the provisional approval 1st.

haha, okay thank you waves for reviving my thread, then hijacking it! lol, kidding la. anyway, i heard from this friend that moe wont allocate you the schools. i applied for the post online, and my status is approved. i heeded my friend's advice and approached schools. that was in late november. i approached around 10 schools, left my name and contact number but till now, have not been called up for a post yet. maybe that was during the school holidays, so the achools arent employing yet? i hope so... secondary schools should be more in need of relief/ temporary teachers right?
