as in those with stands one. i remember seeing them go for 20plus at compasspoint event area a few mths ago... anyone knows where i can get those pits?
Giant ... cheap and nice ... I bought one 3 months ago and till now still not use it ...sigh ..
i've seen some cheap ones at Giant at IMM..
You can try SKP if there's one in the vicinity. But be warned, you pay for what you get. Cheap BBQ don't tend to last.
I duno if careforre/carefour is still selling them, i bought mine for $9.90, small and short, but can be used at home

my friends and i have been having bbq every christmas eve at my house. every year we destroy one table coz we placed the disposable ones one the table over serveral layers of bricks, chopping boards etc... thats why i am looking for a pit with stand. haha not looking for long lasting ones.
thanks for the replies. will go carrefore or giant to check those pits out
those standing one dangerous leh
becos they are quite light
easy topple if u accidentally knock it
and quite small surface area to peng kang
oni can put a few pieces on it at one time
we always make 2 DIY ones, supported on stacked floor tiles
the tiles will crack sometimes but it's ok
rber to cut one side off so easy to put in charcoal and for fanning

Yes, that could work too. I do that all the time at the corridor outside our flat if my wife and I are craving for a small barbie. But we prop the tray up with bricks, else the tray would be too low and we'd end up with a back ache hunching over the 'pit' the whole evening or we'd be kicking dirt onto our food.
Also to note - get the Reynolds ones, not some Chop Nam Huat brand from the market. They cost more, but the bottom are less likely to give way from the heat of the red-hot charcoal.
food is good n reasonably priced. they got disposable pits and their charcoal is the good ones. low smoke n last very long.
