Don't think they will literally fire a rocket with its payload up into the orbit. Probably piggyback on a conventional aircraft and launch from there.

The burn-up on reentry will take care of that.

Maybe by that time it is no more rocket? All fly-off like aeroplanes? Blasted by catapult? Virgin SpaceShipOne? The research on non-rocket based spacecraft should be bearing fruits soon.....-i think.

how on earth is Sg going to have the base to support such a ""PORT"" ? There is only 1 landing opportunity. The US has 3. landing opportunity "Port"

If the shuttle overshoot the runway u land in the US....or pacific ocean....u need to stand inline to take another flight back to SG.

Hello to threadstarter and fellow forummers. Space Adventures' Singapore Spaceport has never progress beyond being a concept on paper. The project is currently place on-hold due to a lack of interest from local companies, and the failure to secure sufficient "financial assistance". As such, we can safely deduce that the idea of a Singapore Spaceport will be fading slowly into oblivion. Thank you.

Also, the idea behind the Singapore Spaceport will be sub-orbital flights utilizing the C-21 and Explorer, similar to White Knight and SpaceShipOne. No actual launching of rockets will be involved as the there's insufficient launch corridor for a safe lift-off to LEO.
