I hate to admit I am racist, but unknowingly I think I am.
This morning I saw an 'Ang Moh' on business clothes cycled along Holland Ave, my first thought told me oops he is a green environmentalist. He cycles for somehow it may help to green the earth.
When my bus travelled along North Buona Vista Road, I saw an Indian cycling, oops my first thought told me life must be tough to him, he must be trying real hard to save every pennies.
Oops, why for the same event, it triggers different thought?
Another incident happened in the new NTUC Holland Drive. 2 weeks back I saw this 'Ang Moh' arranging (merchandising) those nuts (cashew, pistachio from NATURE WONDERS). My first thought was this lady 'Ang Moh' probably owns the distributorship and now helping her staff to merchandise her items, this lady boss was so considerate in rescuing her colleagues from the tight CNY schedules.
After CNY I met the lady 'Ang Moh' again, she now don the orange 'NTUC ' t-shirt, oops she was a staff with NTUC.
I chatted with the aunty cashier, and was told that she was a temp worker in the supermarket.
Oops times change! Globalisation is now at my door step! Me no longer competing with the Asians, me now got to compete with the Ang Mohs! I need to build up my muscles strength else I doubt I can even stand a chance now in competing for a job as a merchandiser in our home ground, NTUC.
Well done NTUC, you are able to both bring in the foreign talents and bring down the prices at the same time, I salute you.

nothing extreme there
It just shows that you are a 井底之蛙...
I have to admit I am indeed a 井底之蛙。
I had spoken to my friend on this, and it changed my perspective. No one is superior.
oops oops oops oops oops oops oops
everyone is a racist.. just a matter on how you deal with it...
i think you are not necessarily a rascist just that we all stereotype people into various roles.
Sure, nobody likes to be stereotyped but hey, human beings work by classifying knowledge into 'compartments' so it is easy to retrieve. Hence, if your knowledge is general or the subject is unfamiliar, then your mind will tend to make assumptions on previous memories or impressions. if all the chicken rice you have eaten before tend to be hainanese, you will tend to assume all chicken rice stall sellers are hainanese.
However, when you increase your knowledge, your tendency to stereotype will lessen. Just like if you know someone personally, it is much harder for you to just stereotype that person due to race, sex, age etc.
nope you are superior because you know your weakness
relax... ... everyone is a little bit racist ^^

Agreed, prejudice against others is a more appropriate term than being racist. Glad I bring this out, for I no longer the frog in the well.
BTW, I have no ill-intention for bringing up such 'sensitive' topics.
Ts is a moron.
