Miss Chiang: 'For example, at the Singapore Arts Festival, there have been films that were censored to such an extent that the artists decided to withdraw their films from the festival.
So in this case, Singaporeans did not get exposed enough to artistic works, within Singapore.'
Mr Lee: I don't see that as a great deprivation.'
Seriously, Do you think that Singapore Censorship has affect our local filmmakers?

yes and no .

Definetely. If im a filmmaker in spore, i wouldnt want my film to be cutted so many times. In the end, its not your original film anymore. so you might as well ask the censorships to make their own films!? lol.
But because singapore is a "racial harmony" country, we had to be extremely careful one film language.
taken from wiki: "Censorship in Singapore mainly targets sexual, political, racial and religious issues, as defined by an ever-shifting panoply of out-of-bounds markers."
there is NO censorship in sg. the govt does not impose censorship. thru the MDA, a set of guidelines is given to anyone who wants to show their work. its all self censorship. if u want to show your work, u just have to work within the guidelines. if not, =)
