Why do Singaporeans stereotype themselves?

  I've noticed that a lot of Singaporeans replace their 'l's with 'R's and their 'V's with 'B's when communicating online whether on a forum or through some other medium such as an online game, thus intentionally conforming to the stereotype of Asians being unable to pronounce those letters correctly. Why do you do this?

  It's not exactly simple when you add more letters to your words or have to consciously change all them around.

  Formality is not necessary like all the time dude, its fun speaking retardedly at times, makes the atmosphere wayyyy more casual and comfortable. Unless you're talking about serious issues that require solemn responses, otherwise, i don't see the BIG issue dude.
