We Singaporeans will get homesick whenever we visit Malaysia because Malaysia is kampong and Singapore is urban.

No use. The kampong will go eventually. At the end of the day economics > nostalgia.

It should be very clear by now, your house is not your home, or rather your home is not your house. At any given moment you can be asked to vacate. SERS, Enbloc, or simply to make way for a road.
I HAZ QUESTIONS!!
1) to those who say 'save the kumpong!'. WHY?
2) (k. i dunno what the life of the people there are like) but, if saving the kumpong can be done so long you give up your current lifestyle and life there like the 'locals' in the kumpong, will you do so?
thanks...
.
my question is why do you think it should be saved....not whether or not it should be....
anyway, what's the situation like now?
have you been there before? Do you know what the lifestyle of the people there are like?
thanks.
