i've gone for about a year without a trim

I think once a month should be okay. I use the trimmer on my shaver to trim off any untidy loose ends if and when required.

i 6 month never cut hair loh

usually 6 mths...sometimes I'd even cut it by myself when I feel like it, I can do the japanese-style layer cut quite well by myself by visualizing and feeling the hair at the back with my fingers without mirrors. My friend confirmed it looks ok.
Advantage is that I can get it to exactly the way I wanted it. But usually take me an hour to cut properly. Somemore save 30 bucks...I'm a cheepo.
