Arvind Swamy was a 90s tamil heartrob actor.He was introduced to the movie industry by Mani Ratnam'through His first film as lead hero was Mani Ratnam's film Roja in 1992. his performance in movies like Roja and Bombay were hailed by Time magazine generating him international acclaim. The movie became a hit throughout the country and internationally, and a turning point in indian cinema history and Arvind Swamy's impressive performance established his position as an actor. He became a heartthrob of girls all over the nation overnight. He was very selective about his roles. Though he has acted in only a 5 or more films , most of them went on to become blockbusters, highly rated by film critics.
