Hey guys, hope there will be someone here whom had gone through this path will be able to advise me on what my next step would be.
I had just finished my Diploma in Accountancy, now waiting for NS. So I thought this would be the best time to research on it.
Currently, I am torn between these 3 choices:
1) To take ACCA after completion of NS
2) To go overseas for a degree on accounting
3) To take ACCA during NS (not too sure how feasible is this) and degree overseas after NS.
Addtionally, these are the few doubts I have which I hope someone here will also be able to answer:
1) What is the average cost and duration of getting the ACCA cert?
2) Will there be any exemptions for my overseas degree if I manage to get my ACCA during NS?
Based on my knowledge, going overseas for degree will cost $20+k per year and will take 2 years to complete. I hope someone experienced can bring me to the right direction. Thanks.
If cost is not a problem, go overseas for your degree.
The experience will be beneficial.
If not, the ACCA is a good option.
Definitely you need something more than just a diploma in singapore.
Right now, even basic degree holders are having problems.
You can imagine what it will be like in another 5 years. ![]()
London Uni
Overseas at $20k a year? ![]()
Did you do your homework?
ns is killing aspiring people like TS..ts pls downgrade yaself accordingly...better still if got
genuine medical problem..to do this go see a specialist and get a memo and show it to
ya ns MO and he will arrange medical board for you for PES review and voila , a PES C
would be nice generally but anything C2 and below dun nid take ippt ,hence avoiding RT
in camp all together effectively...more time for ya account course.Ns vocation wise just
pray hard that u dun get into active combat unit as service vocationalist since they are all
required to stay in as with the combatant.

Kindly stick to the topic and not spread beguile anti NS messages.
TS: If your unit you r eventually posted to have the flexibility, perhaps u can take a part time ACCA. Your 20K estimation may be off the mark, u need to consider living costs too.
A friend of mine did his ACCA part time with kapalan (after his NS) while working full time. Another friend did part time degree (with SIM I think). Now both doing relativey well.
Sorry I didn't state my post properly, the $20+ thousand is only for the course fees and not inclusive of the other costs. Thanks for all the input. Anyone can answer my question o:
1) What is the average cost and duration of getting the ACCA
cert?
2) Will there be any exemptions for my overseas degree if I manage
to get my ACCA during NS?
Is it feasible to also take both ACCA (during NS if possible) and degree after NS? Or is it redundant?
wu lui -- go overseas
bo lui -- do in SG
Dont think about overseas uni if you dont have at least 150k...
overseas uni = got money oh darling i love u\
no money knn i fuck u
