Hey guys, that's probably the weirdest message ever. Water prices are high and i really want my family to save on water. Now i want to get a specific type of shower bag, i am not sure what the heck they are called, which is why i am asking environmental nuts or any men who have gone on exercise wallaby (in the mobile HQ section bases) because they might know what i am on about.
I remember in my conscript days we went to rockhampton for exercise wallaby and water was scarce, the shower rooms had these bags which had a nozzle at the bottom, a grown man could have a decent shower with just one bucket of water, (ofcourse all the SIN guys were splashing themselves with smaller handled containers and used up to 3 buckets, but i believe the conservation theory behind the bags proper use is sound).
Does anyone know what i am talking about? WHere can i get those bags? THey would seriously help us conserve water.
water bag? ![]()
It is a water bag... shaped like a big punching bag and as big (when filled with one bucket of water), so try and visualize that cylindrical shape. And it has a turn nozzle at the bottom, and ofcourse you hang this above you on the ceiling. I remember the material was a water proof fabric, not plastic, but more stitched material.
You pour water in from the top, thereby filling the bag up. You turn the nozzle at the bottom and get rinsed. Then you stop, lather up. And then use the remaining water to slowly rinse yourself. It works, i had so many showers with just one bucket of water on exercize then.
Any idea what i'm on about guys?
Wouldn't you accomplish the same thing by buying a bucket and use a ladle to wash yourself with ?
ya... u need to hoist the water bag with a thick white nylon rope with a pulley system/ just throw over the bar pole to a handle hook...
No Stevenson, that's what i called the kampong way of bathing, which ofcourse saves water but you need at least 3 buckets or so to have a good wash. We bathed like that when we lived in Indonesia. The method which i am talking about, which i only saw on training areas in queensland, can make use of only 1 bucket of water; very environmental and very cheap; especially in SIN city.
Rednano, YES you understand what i am talking about? What are they called and where can i get those? Who was the authority governing shoalwater bay training area? Any idea?
Cheers
