Hi people. I want to install some energy saving lights: where you walk in a room and the fluroscent lights turn themselves on, when no one is there for a few minutes they switch themselves off.
My folks are getting old and they always forget to switch off lights and this wastes electricity, so ideally we need some sort of automatic lights that switch themselves off and i can't be around all the time to remind them. And i dislike getting blamed for "leaving lights on."
So can any electricians tell me or recommend a DIY thing? Soem DIY and HomeFix stores i've been to in Singapore have no idea what the heck i am talking about when i say i want to buy or make automatic lights. Hope other people can help me, given the level of environmental publicity campaigns, i would think everyone would be into this.
Cheers mates.

go to the lighting shops along balestier road.
try lumiere and the shop next to it
Alrighty thanks mates will do.
These devices are not much use and they save just a little. Worse they compound the problem in that they will learn that now they do not need to switch off. Not a good habit to acquire.
They should learn to switch off. They can learn no matter how old. Just don't play along that they are old and useless.
